Minnesota Axe (MN AXE) is an exciting entertainment venture located inside of the Monticello Emagine Theatre! We are looking for remarkable personalities to become part of a great team. Axe Throwing has become an extremely popular and competitive sport around the world and offers an opportunity for players of all calibers the chance to experience something very exciting. 

Summary:
The Axe Master is responsible for coaching guests in proper axe throwing techniques and facilitate a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone at MN AXE while maintaining safe practices.
Responsibilities:

  • To maintain safe and orderly conduct of guests.
  • Facilitate different games and tournaments including scorekeeping and win/loss records.
  • To ensure that guests are engaged and aware of their surroundings.
  • To maintain awareness of surroundings, other groups in adjacent lanes and any other factors which could potentially affect the safety of any guests or employees.
  • Monitor guests’ consumption of alcohol and report any disorderly conduct or intoxication to management and/or security.
  • To monitor lane and target condition and conduct any repairs or target board replacement as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Enjoys physical activities, previous axe throwing experience not required but definitely helpful
  • Strong communication skills; able to speak concisely and use humor effectively in a group setting.
  • Strong leadership skills; display high confidence and emotional EQ to manage group dynamics.
  • Strong interest in coaching and teaching; enthusiasm for sharing new experiences with others.
  • Excel in a team environment; foster a culture of respect, camaraderie and inclusiveness for ALL guests and staff.
  • Strong results orientation; do what needs to be done and take initiative to prevent problems before they occur.
  • Experience working in entertainment, hospitality &/or recreation management strongly preferred.
  • 18 years or older
